An Autumn Morning with Jolene
Don't be sick of my "fluffing" of Fall...it's just so rejuvinating, especially coming off of a recent full house clean, meaning I cleaned the apartment, not that I kicked my "Full House" habit (however I do get maniacal about neatness a la Danny Tanner...except my dog's name is AJAX.*)
Crisp mornings always make for a better day, and the way the daylight hit my piano THIS morning, it was like I was being told by a higher power to play. So I did what anyone else would do, I taped it. I've mentioned my love for Ray LaMontagne's "Jolene" on this blog in the past. I think it's the best song he's ever written, and you can quote me on that but you won't, because who the hell am I? And while I can't ever sing it like him, my gorgeous yet horribly out-of-tune upright piano allows me to play it in G (as it's written) yet sing it in Q...(Q being the unknown key of said piano.)
Recorded on my laptop, I apologize for the audio quality & my terrible posture, but this is my Autumn morning with "Jolene."
Enjoy, and have a great weekend!
