I've fallen in love...

with Virginia.  I can't remember the last time I was there, but this was special. Maybe it's because I was there to play music? Who knows!

I pulled into Charlottesville at 7:35pm Tuesday evening, scheduled to hit the stage at 7:45pm. Driving through the winding hills, and the beautiful landscape, I was more excited than stressed. The venue was an old AutoShop turned art gallery/espresso bar in downtown Charlottesville and my good friend & wonderful songwriter, Bianca Merkley, set the show up. The crowd was attentive & warm and it was a great way to kick off our "twitter dubbed" #MiniVAtour. I'd been there for 45 minutes and had already met some amazing people.  By the time Bianca hit the stage (with Naomi Steckman on Cello,) I was starting to come off the high of playing a set after 7 hours on the road when Dave from WTJU radio handed me an ice cold Yuengling. Perfect timing.

What came next? Bianca and I played 3 sets of music in 3 different cities in less than 2 days, and I couldn't be happier with each stop. After last nights gig in Staunton, I hit the road and made my way back to NYC. It was a whirlwind, and I'm already planning my return in the Fall. Soooo, get ready VA.
